BBC Bias

Did you know?

38% of the BBC Board is pro-Israel. You’re unlikely to get the truth from the BBC [the last fair coverage was in March 2023 when they broadcast “half” the truth in The Holy Land and Us: BBC documentary a ‘monumental’ moment for Palestinians | Middle East Eye]

See this video from Owen Jones of 12th August 2026 “BBC ADMITS Bias In Favour Of Israel – With ABSURD Defence” at https://youtu.be/VqGDgDy3PcE

An excellent example of BBC bias is this story that they recently covered (in September 2026) when a building in Gaza collapsed, killing 20 Gazans. The BBC acted as if it collapsed (of its own accord, because it felt like it?), ignoring the fact that Israel had bombed the foundations so much that it had become an accident waiting to happen. Tim Llewellyn (ex-BBC) put his finger on it, when he said on Facebook in relation to this story:

Still image from BBC video about a building collapsing in Gaza – read the story here https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvp8d00j9gg5o

Tim said: “The BBC can’t seem to help itself. Read this story carefully and see if you can discover who ‘damaged’ this building? Who made homeless the people sheltering in this wreckage, many of them now dead or injured or trapped in terror after it fell down? It doesn’t say, does it? The ruin in question was ‘war-damaged’.Any ideas who bombed this civilian building, anyone?

I expect Hamas fighters got fed up with their Palestinian human shields not shielding them properly, chased them into this building in a rage, then fired their rocket-propelled grenades at it until it nearly fell down. Or something like that.

The BBC is careful to let you work it out. Wouldn’t want to upset anyone.

NB: any story mentioning Israel goes through three levels of checking at BBC Arabic Service news. Just the one level for any story about Russia.”

Steve Bell Cartoons- Banned by the Guardian

On 17th July 2019, Steve Bell fired off an angry email to the Guardian after his latest If… cartoon strip was pulled. It was the third in a series, lampooning Tom Watson and his search for antisemitic tropes.

Here’s the email Steve sent to the Guardian, following their refusal to publish. The Guardian, it seems, feared legal action from Tom Watson MP if they proceeded. (Watson was at that time, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, under Jeremy Corbyn. Watson was a child of the right- there to keep the blue Labour gang happy).

But for many years the Guardian has published Steve’s cartoons, which lampoon all politicians on a regular basis. Why make an exception to this one? It’s long been known that Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland is a Zionist and he seems to be quite influential in the Guardian hierarchy. Might he have been behind spiking this? What is clear, though, is that the Guardian is fearful of its Zionist readers boycotting the paper. So much for impartiality!

Private Eye

On the subject of cartoons, Private Eye has published this cartoon from Bestie

Bestie Art | Fine Art Prints of your favourite Bestie greetings card cartoons (bestie-art.co.uk)

Mind you, it was at Christmas time. Previously, they had published a nasty lampoon of Jewish Voice for Labour (JVL). Private Eye had completely ignored the whole bogus anti-Semitism charade until Corbyn announced he was standing down, and then in January 2020 they went nuts, parroting all the stupid things that the mainstream media said.

The cartoon strip declares [untruthfully] that JVL “are about as Jewish as a pork chop at a bar mitzvah”.

Many, including JVL and Pete Gregson, wrote into Private Eye(PE) to complain; their letters were never published. And in their Election Special of Dec 2019 PE described Chris Williamson as a “raving anti-Semite” which some of us also wrote in to complain about (our letters were again never published). Perhaps editor Ian Hislop was showing where his true loyalties lie.
